Engage and RE:Connect

Happy spring, Peterborough County!
Starting right now, we’re going to be posting one blog a month to encourage you, the residents of Peterborough County, to participate in a circular economy. You may be asking what exactly that is and why it matters. A circular economy is a model that aims to keep materials in circulation for as long as possible through application of the four principles of circularity, those of course being share, reuse, repair, and recycle. By reducing the amount of waste we produce by turning these principles into actions, we make Peterborough County a little cleaner and a little greener.
On the 15th of this month, RE:Connect is hosting a community event perfectly suited to a circular economy. The main draw is the large-scale clothing swap, which is a great excuse to do some spring cleaning in your wardrobe. Find all those things you don’t wear anymore and swap them out for a fresh new-to-you look! And the swaps don’t stop there, as a jigsaw puzzle swap will also be happening. If that isn’t enough, artists of all ages can participate in an art contest, encouraging the use of reused and recycled materials in your project. Check out the event happening at the Peterborough Memorial Centre Morrow Building (151 Lansdowne St. W., Peterborough) any time between 11am-7pm on Wednesday April 15th. Learn more here.
We’ll see you there!
Thank you for your contribution!
