Little Free Libraries

Did you know that there are more than 30 registered (and several independent) little free libraries across the Peterborough region? Little libraries are small book depositories you may have seen at the edge of some people’s property. They operate mostly on a “take a book leave a book” system, though it’s alright to occasionally take a book without leaving one and vice versa. Checking out the little libraries in your neighbourhood is a great excuse to get out for a walk in the lovely summer weather! You could even grab a new-to-you book and head to a local park or café to do some reading. You can find the closest little libraries to you by using the map on the Little Free Library website or simply by exploring to see if you find one!

If you can’t find one nearby, or can’t find the book you’re looking for, why not try your local library branch? Libraries across the County and City are listed on the SRRR Hub interactive map, and they all do more than just house books. Several are the host sites for food banks, recycling programs, and community events!
