Our County's Circular Economy

What do you know about circular economies, and what do you know about circularity in Peterborough County? This project is focused on facilitating a circular community. The project has resulted in a map that shows the locations of businesses all over the County and the City that we thought aligned with the goals and actions of a circular community. That includes recycling depots, tailors, equipment rentals, secondhand stores, and more. These local businesses are fostering circularity by helping us to reduce waste and engage with at least one of the four principles of the circularity movement. The map can be found in the places tab.

A circular community keeps products and materials in use for as long as possible, reducing the amount of waste that ends up in our landfill. This initiative is only possible through the participation of local businesses and County residents. Together, through small everyday choices and by using what our community offers, we can reduce waste, grow our local circular economy, and build a more sustainable County.
