2026 HBM SHOP LOCAL CONTEST

Rules & Guidelines

The HBM Shop Local Contest goal is to incentivize township residents and visitors to purchase goods and services locally to bolster the Havelock-Belmont-Methuen economy.

• Visit a retail store or utilize a service provider within the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen between Monday July 6, 2026, and Sunday October 18, 2026, and purchase a product or service of $20.00 or more.
• Each purchase of $20.00 or more from a local HBM retail store or service provider is considered one (1) contest entry.
• You will need to hang on to your receipt or paid invoice as proof of purchase! Submit your proof of purchase by one of the following methods:
  • E-mail a picture of your receipt or paid invoice, clearly showing the purchase/service date to shoplocal@hbmtwp.ca along with your full name and contact details; Or,
  • Drop-off your physical receipt or copy of paid invoice along with your full name and contact information at the Municipal Office (1 Ottawa St E, Havelock) from Monday through Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm; Or,
  • Place your physical receipt or copy of paid invoice along with your full name and contact information into the grey Drop Box located outside the front office door.
  • Submit through this webpage, found at the bottom of this page.

The semi-monthly contest, having a prize value of $75.00, selected randomly based on the entries received up until 11:59 p.m. on the Sunday prior to set draw dates.

Draws will take place on the following dates:

• The contest prize draw dates are aligned with the Regular Council meeting schedule, the 1^st and 3^rd Tuesday of each month. The contest prize winner’s name will be drawn and announced, as part of the Council’s regular business, and captured as part of the Council meeting minutes and YouTube video. Note: July and August there is only one scheduled Council meeting, and the 2^nd monthly contest prize will be drawn by staff members.
• On a semi-monthly basis, one (1) winner will be awarded a prize (gift card/certificate) having a total of $75.00 value.
• All prize items (gift card/certificate) will be, purchased by the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen from a local retail store or service provider, in support of local businesses.
• All contest entries will be considered and drawn from for the Grand Prize of a $500 gift card. This draw will take place on Tuesday October 20, 2026, with the last regular draw.

CONTEST RULES

• Contest is open to residents and visitors of the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen.

• Contest participants must be 18 years of age or older.
• Prizes will range from local retail gift cards and/or certificates.
• Contest winners are to accept prizes (gift card/certificate) as presented and cannot exchange for cash value.
• Contest winners agree to abide by any gift card/certificate conditions, as prescribed by the merchant.
• Contest participants can submit multiple contest entries and can potentially win multiple bi-monthly draws.
• Contest winners agree to have their name published on the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen website and on social media accounts, as part of the HBM Shop Local campaign communication and promotion.
• The Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen assumes no responsibility or liability for any product or service purchased, including those acquired by contest prize (gift card/certificate), during this contest,
• The Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen staff and Councillors, as well as their immediate families, are not eligible for any HBM Shop Local contest winnings. Immediate family members include spouse/significant other, child, parent, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, and grandchildren.
