The Ennismore Inclusive Playground Project at Ennismore Waterfront Park & Beach represents a transformative step toward creating a more inclusive, accessible, and connected community in Selwyn Township. What began as a vision for a barrier-free playground has grown into a thoughtfully designed, fully integrated recreation space that will welcome individuals and families of all abilities.

At the heart of this initiative is the Jude’s Joy Fundraiser, led by the Ennismore Optimist Club in collaboration with Julie Grant of Accessible Playgrounds Ontario. Together, they have worked to bring this vision to life by raising funds and awareness for an innovative play space that prioritizes accessibility and active participation. Features such as poured-in-place rubber surfacing and inclusive equipment, including a ground-level merry-go-round designed for mobility aids, reflect a commitment to ensuring everyone can play, connect, and belong.

With strong support from residents, businesses, and community partners, the project has already made significant progress toward its fundraising goals. More than just a playground, it stands as a model for inclusive recreation, one that will enhance quality of life, encourage multi-generational play, and position Selwyn Township as a welcoming destination for all.

Thank You to Donors and Community Supporters

The Ennismore Inclusive Playground would not be possible without the incredible generosity and support of our local businesses, community members, and organizations. Their donations and contributions have played a vital role in turning this vision into a reality, helping to create a truly inclusive space where people of all ages and abilities can play, connect, and belong.

To everyone who has contributed to this project through fundraising efforts, sponsorships, and individual donations, your support reflects the strong community spirit that defines Ennismore and Selwyn Township.

As part of the project, donors will also be recognized on-site at the playground as a lasting acknowledgement of their contributions. The organizing committee is currently working on the design and installation of this recognition feature.
